The finale of this encounter is the goriest in recent memory, and even the scorched bone of the Cart Titan is terrifying. The Titans’Titans’ war screams are enough to deafen the city and leave the citizens immobilized and powerless. The Jaw Titan’sTitan’s synchronized assault over rooftops is also a good usage of CG in this kind of conflict. The Beast Titan’sTitan’s boulder barrages are visceral and intimidating, yet in “Sneak Attack,” swaths of airships are destroyed like a child tossing pebbles at paper airplanes.

In “Sneak Attack,” Zeke focuses on the Jaeger siblings, which causes conflict in Yelena. Yelena’sYelena’s veneration for Zeke and the Beast Titan is almost spiritual, which only adds to her instability. Yelena alternates between excitement and dread as Zeke rises and falls throughout this episode. It’sIt’s as though she’s seen God trampled by humanity.
As she adjusts to the new normal, Yelena becomes a threat. Her delusional, unpredictable temperament and unexpected triggers make her one of the scariest series. But the terrifying part is that she could either embrace Armin or slash his neck at this point. Yelena’sYelena’s need to have something to believe in while the world is so shattered is understandable.

Yelena accepts the destruction of her idols, but Gabi is more motivated than ever to fight for her fellow Eldian and ensure that no man is left behind. Many people still dislike Gabi, but she has never been more relatable than in “Sneak Attack.” Why isn’t Gabi able to defend her friend? It’sIt’s a sobering reminder that these key participants are children facing unimaginable death sentences.
It’s as poignant when Falco, alone Eldian, convinces himself she’s not worth the effort. The contrary is accurate, and it serves as the needed olive branch to heal the Eldians. Before Falco escapes, his cellmates congratulate him on having a home to return to and not being drafted to become a monster. This apparent silver lining is bittersweet since Falco is on borrowed time like them.
