LG Electronics has committed to boosting the careers of animation students in dramatic fashion with its first annual Wonderbox Showcase Challenge, a 3D animation competition for post-secondary students across the US.
The LG Wonderbox Showcase Challenge aims “to power the future of innovative and compassionate creatives to help them kickstart their career in animation.”
The top three winners will earn cash prizes (up to $25,000), along with LG products, with the 1st place winner’s work featured on LG’s massive billboard in Times Square.
Students across the US are invited to submit original 3D animation artwork that demonstrates “uncompromising quality along with well-thought-out examples of innovation with heart; something that will catch the eye and power a smile.”
Finalists will be selected by a panel of 3D animation pioneers including GMUNK, Pwnisher, and Penelope Nederlander.
Submissions will be accepted from Nov 14-20, 2022. Students can submit as individuals or in teams of up to five people.
